Redknapp claims spurs have gone backwards under mourinho
A familiar debate!
Harry Redknapp, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager, has indeed made some comments suggesting that the club has regressed under José Mourinho. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Redknapp stated:
"I think Tottenham have gone backwards since José Mourinho took over. I think they've lost their way a bit. They were playing some great football under Mauricio Pochettino, and I think they've lost that now."
Redknapp, who managed Spurs from 2008 to 2012, praised Pochettino's tenure, saying:
"Mauricio did a fantastic job at Tottenham. He took them to the Champions League final, and they were playing some great football. They were a team that everyone wanted to watch, and they were a team that everyone wanted to play for."
In contrast, Redknapp believes that Mourinho's tactics have stifled the team's creativity and attacking flair:
"Mourinho's teams are always very defensive-minded, and I think that's what's happened at Tottenham. They're not playing with the same freedom and creativity that they were under Pochettino. They're not getting the same results, and I think that's because they're not playing the same way."
Redknapp's comments have sparked a lively debate among Spurs fans, with some agreeing that the team has lost its identity under Mourinho, while others argue that the Portuguese manager has been unfairly criticized and that the team's results are not as bad as they seem.
