Psalm for new year
What a wonderful idea! Here's a suggested Psalm for the New Year:
Psalm 118:24-26
"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. The Lord has made it; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we beseech you, O Lord! O Lord, we beseech you, now and forevermore."
Reflection:
As we enter a new year, we are reminded that every day is a gift from God. This psalm encourages us to rejoice and be glad in the present moment, rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. It's a call to live in the present, trusting that God is with us and guiding us.
Prayer:
Dear God, as we begin this new year, we come to you with gratitude and hope. Help us to rejoice in the present moment, to trust in your goodness and guidance, and to seek your wisdom and direction. May we be mindful of your presence in our lives and may we use this new year to grow closer to you. Amen.
Additional Reflections:
- Take a moment to reflect on the past year and give thanks for the blessings you've received.
- Think about what you're looking forward to in the new year and how you can use this time to grow and serve others.
- Consider setting a personal or spiritual goal for the new year and ask God to help you achieve it.
May this psalm and reflection guide you as you enter the new year with hope and joy!
