Psalm 90 good news bible

Here is Psalm 90 in the Good News Bible (GNB):

Psalm 90

  1. Lord, you have been our home for all eternity.
  2. You have lived right through the years, and your years have no end.
  3. In the beginning, you laid the earth's foundation.
  4. The heavens are the work of your hands.
  5. They will perish, but you will remain;
  6. they will wear out like a garment.
  7. You will roll them up like a cloak,
  8. and change them like a garment.
  9. But you are the same, and your years will never end.
  10. The years of a mortal man are seventy,
  11. or eighty if he is strong;
  12. but they are nothing compared to your years,
  13. for they are like a fleeting moment.
  14. In your sight, they are like yesterday,
  15. like a few hours gone by in the morning.
  16. Lord, your years are endless;
  17. they never come to an end.
  18. What are mortals, that you should think about them,
  19. that you should guide them like a shepherd?
  20. You have made them a little lower than yourself,
  21. and crowned them with glory and honor.
  22. You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
  23. you have put everything under their feet.
  24. All things are subject to them,
  25. but they will not dominate you.
  26. They will all wear out like a garment,
  27. like a cloak that is worn out.
  28. But you remain the same,
  29. and your years will never end.

This psalm is often referred to as a "wisdom psalm" because it reflects on the nature of God and the human condition. It's a beautiful expression of the fleeting nature of human life and the enduring nature of God's existence.
