Psalm 80 good news bible

Here is Psalm 80 in the Good News Bible (GNB):

Psalm 80

A Prayer for God's Help

1 Hear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph's tribe, like a flock of sheep. In the land of Ephraim and in the regions of Manasseh, show us your power to rescue.

2 Turn us again, O God; show your mercy to us. 3 How long will you be angry with us? How long will your anger burn like a fire?

4 Do not remember our sins and wrongs; think of your mercy, O Lord, and your love for us.

5 Help us, O God, for the sake of your own name; for your own reputation's sake, rescue us.

6 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Why should they say of Israel, "A people God has not cared for?"

7 But you, O God, are our Father; we are the clay, and you are the potter. We are all the work of your hands.

8 Do not be angry with us, O Lord, or remember our sins and wrongs. 9 See how we have been treated, and see the shame we have suffered.

10 Your holy people have become the object of scorn, and your covenant people have become a byword.

11 See, O God, and look upon us; see how we have been treated. 12 Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Why should they say of Israel, "A people God has not cared for?"

13 But we, your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever. We will praise you from generation to generation.
