Psalm 8 good news bible
Here is Psalm 8 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 8
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens. At your command the sun shines brightly, and the moon makes its way across the sky. You have given the earth to humans, and they are but a fleeting thought in your sight.
Human beings, how small and insignificant you are! Yet you have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You have given them control over all the works of your hands, putting everything under their feet.
All animals and birds, even the fish in the sea, are subject to them. Yet when they are in trouble, they cry out to you, and you save them from their distress. You have given them the power to rule over everything, from the smallest creature to the largest.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
This psalm is a beautiful expression of awe and wonder at the majesty of God, and the humble place of human beings in the grand scheme of creation. It's a reminder of God's power and sovereignty, and the privilege it is to be created in His image and to have dominion over the earth.
