Psalm 65 good news bible
Here is Psalm 65 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 65
-
You bless the earth and make it fertile.
-
You flood it with the water of the sea and send streams across its fields.
-
You water its crops and make them grow.
-
You provide food for the people, and they are satisfied with the good things you give.
-
You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.
-
The hills are covered with flocks, and the valleys are filled with grain.
-
You water the mountains with rain, and the earth is filled with the fruit of your work.
-
You make the grass grow for the cattle, and the plants for man to use, giving them food from what the earth produces.
-
You satisfy the thirsty and fill the hungry with good things.
-
You place borders on the earth and make the seasons.
-
You make the sun shine and the moon give light, and you give the stars their places in the sky.
-
You set the boundaries of the earth, and the morning and evening bring it to rest.
-
You make the springs flow and the rivers go to their destinations.
-
You give drink to the thirsty and provide food for the hungry.
-
You have made the earth fertile and rich, and the world is full of your creatures.
-
You take care of the earth and all that lives on it, and you give them life.
-
The seas are full of fish, and the creatures of the sea are in your care.
-
You give them their food, and they are satisfied with the good things you give.
-
You have made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun to know its time for rising and setting.
-
You have set the boundaries of the earth, and the morning and evening bring it to rest.
-
May God bless us and be gracious to us, and may his face shine on us.
-
May you, God, give us your peace, and may all that we do be pleasing to you.
This psalm is a beautiful expression of gratitude to God for the blessings of creation, provision, and care. It acknowledges God's role in sustaining the earth and all its creatures, and asks for God's blessing and peace.
