Psalm 55 good news bible
Here is Psalm 55 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 55
A Prayer for Help
- Listen to my prayer, O God. Listen to my cry for help.
- From my enemies I run for safety to my God, who hears me.
- When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
- I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, who has spoken.
- I will cry out to God, and he will hear me.
- In the morning, I will pray to him; by evening, I will praise him.
- I am like a wineskin that is cracked and broken. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have left me to be like a wineskin that is cracked and broken.
- I can see that God has abandoned me. My enemies are stronger than I am.
- My friends and neighbors, they all hate me. Those I loved have turned against me.
- My enemies are like a swarm of bees; they attack me fiercely.
- I am forced to flee, but I will not stop. I will not slow down until I find a safe place.
- I will cry out to God, and he will hear me.
- I will praise God, who has spoken. I will praise God, who has spoken.
- I will hope in God, who has spoken. I will praise God, who has spoken.
- But as for you, O God, you are my God, my God, the God of my salvation.
- Hear my prayer, O God. Listen to my cry for help.
- You, O God, are my God, my God, the God of my salvation.
- May those who seek my life be caught in their own traps. May those who want to harm me be caught in their own traps.
- Then I will rejoice in the Lord, and I will be glad.
- My God, you have lifted my head like a crown.
- I will praise God, who has spoken. I will praise God, who has spoken.
- I will hope in God, who has spoken. I will praise God, who has spoken.
