Psalm 5 good news bible
Here is Psalm 5 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 5
A prayer for help
- Give ear to my words, O Lord; listen to my silent cries.
- Listen to my prayer; hear my cry for help.
- In your faithfulness, answer me, in your righteousness, set me free.
- Do not put me to shame, O Lord; my enemies are many, but I will be confident in your promise.
- What I say is good and right, so give me your help, O Lord.
- The arrogant are rising up against me; they are trying to crush me with their words. But I will think about your laws, and I will not forget your words.
- Your promises are my comfort, my heart rejoices because of your help.
- I will sing to the Lord, because he has given me a new song— praise to our God in the temple, because he is faithful.
- The Lord is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
- Look, Lord, at those who do evil; banish them from your presence.
- But, Lord, let those who do what is right be happy and rejoice in your presence.
- May all who love your name be happy and rejoice in your presence.
