Psalm 41

A prayer for healing

  1. Lord, listen to my prayer! Listen to my cry for help!
  2. Do not turn away from me, or hide your face from me, so that I am left to beg for help.
  3. My God, I cry out to you day and night, and you will hear my voice.
  4. Do not be silent before my prayers, or hide your face from me, so that I am left to beg for help.
  5. You are my God, and I am your servant. I worship you, and I will give thanks to your name.
  6. You have helped me and comforted me, and you have turned my sorrow into joy.
  7. You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that I can sing your praises.
  8. Lord, I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and I will call on your name.
  9. Lord, I will praise you, and I will honor your name.
  10. You have helped me and set me free.
  11. You have given me a new life, and you will not abandon me to the grave.
  12. You will show me the path of life, and you will fill me with joy in your presence.

A promise of blessing

  1. You will make me lie down in green pastures, and you will lead me beside quiet waters.
  2. You will restore my strength, and you will guide me along the right path, because of your name.
  3. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, because you are with me. I will fear no evil, because you are with me. Your rod and your staff comfort me.
  4. You prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, and my cup overflows.
  5. Only goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
