Psalm 41 good news bible
Here is Psalm 41 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 41
A prayer for healing
- Lord, listen to my prayer! Listen to my cry for help!
- Do not turn away from me, or hide your face from me, so that I am left to beg for help.
- My God, I cry out to you day and night, and you will hear my voice.
- Do not be silent before my prayers, or hide your face from me, so that I am left to beg for help.
- You are my God, and I am your servant. I worship you, and I will give thanks to your name.
- You have helped me and comforted me, and you have turned my sorrow into joy.
- You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that I can sing your praises.
- Lord, I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and I will call on your name.
- Lord, I will praise you, and I will honor your name.
- You have helped me and set me free.
- You have given me a new life, and you will not abandon me to the grave.
- You will show me the path of life, and you will fill me with joy in your presence.
A promise of blessing
- You will make me lie down in green pastures, and you will lead me beside quiet waters.
- You will restore my strength, and you will guide me along the right path, because of your name.
- Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, because you are with me. I will fear no evil, because you are with me. Your rod and your staff comfort me.
- You prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, and my cup overflows.
- Only goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
