Psalm 34

A Prayer for Help

1. I will praise the Lord at all times. I will praise him every day; his praise will be in my mouth.
2. Let all people praise him, all nations praise him.
3. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
4. Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord rescues him from them all.
5. He watches over all his ways, and keeps him from falling.
6. The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
7. My feet were slipping, but the Lord helped me.
8. The Lord is my strength and my savior— he is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.
9. Cry out for help, and the Lord will give you freedom.
10. Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord rescues him from them all.
11. God is a shield that saves the godly, he is their rock, their savior.
12. The Lord gives his people strength, and blesses them with peace.
13. The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
14. The Lord will rescue his people, and save them from the wicked.
15. The Lord's eyes are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.
16. But the Lord turns his face against the wicked, to destroy them.

A Warning to the Wicked

21. The Lord is far from the wicked, but he is near to those who are true to him.
22. The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
23. The Lord's face is against those who do evil, to destroy them.
24. The Lord is a shield that saves the godly, he is their rock, their savior.
25. God is a shield that saves the godly, he is their rock, their savior.
26. The Lord gives his people strength, and blesses them with peace.
27. The Lord will rescue his people, and save them from the wicked.
28. The Lord will bless his people, and give them peace.

A Prayer for Help

29. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
30. The lions may grow weak and hungry, and the men who seek their lives may go hungry.
31. But the righteous will go free, and those who are true to him will go hungry no more.
32. Come, my children, and listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
33. Who is the man who desires life, who loves to see good days?
34. Keep your tongue from speaking evil, and your lips from telling lies.
35. Turn away from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it.
36. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.
37. But the Lord turns his face against the wicked, to destroy them.

40. The Lord helps them and delivers them; he rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
