Psalm 33 good news bible
Here is Psalm 33 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 33
- Sing to the Lord a new song, sing his praise in the assembly of his people.
- Sing to him with thanksgiving, sing his praise with the lyre.
- Sing to him with the harp, play the melody of the lyre,
- with the sound of the flute,
- with the sound of the trumpet,
- with the sound of the cymbals,
- with the sound of the psaltery,
- with the sound of the lyre,
- Sing to him a new song, sing his praise in the assembly of his people.
- Honor the Lord with reverence, and come before him with awe.
- Acknowledge that the Lord is God, he made us and we belong to him, we are his people, the sheep of his flock.
- Listen, Israel, to the Lord our God, listen, the people he has chosen, and listen, all of you, to the Lord our God, who is our God forever and ever.
- He has brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, and has driven out the Philistines, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites,
- He has given us the land, and we have taken possession of it,
- but we have not listened to his voice, we have not followed his laws, we have not obeyed his commands, we have not kept his laws.
- So he has brought all this disaster on us, and we are in great distress.
- He has given us over to our enemies, and we are in the power of our enemies,
- but we have not turned to him, we have not sought him with all our hearts.
- But we have not forgotten you, we have not been false to your covenant.
- Your mercy is great, O Lord, and your faithfulness is eternal. Don't forget the wonders you have done, the miracles you have performed.
- You sent your people out of slavery, and you gave them the land of the Amorites.
- You gave them the land of the Philistines, the land of the Canaanites, the land of the Perizzites, the land of the Hivites, and the land of the Jebusites.
- You have done great and wonderful things, you have shown your mighty power and wisdom.
- You have done miracles that have been told, and you have done wonders that have been known.
- You have given us victory over our enemies, and you have given us the land of our inheritance.
- You are the God who is our God, and we will praise you forever.
- But we have not listened to your voice, we have not followed your laws, we have not obeyed your commands, we have not kept your laws.
- So you have given us over to our enemies, and we are in the power of our enemies,
- but we have not turned to you, we have not sought you with all our hearts.
- But we have not forgotten you, we have not been false to your covenant.
- Your mercy is great, O Lord, and your faithfulness is eternal. Don't forget the wonders you have done, the miracles you have performed.
- See, O Lord, how we are in great distress, and how we are in great trouble.
- Rescue us, O Lord, and help us, and save us from the power of our enemies, and let all the nations know that you are our God, and that you have avenged us.
