Psalm 32

A Happy Heart

1. Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are covered.
2. Oh, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in accordance with his laws.
3. When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away,
4. my strength was sapped, and I could hardly breathe.
5. But when I confessed my sin, I felt the weight of guilt lift, and I was free at last!
6. The Lord forgave me and took away my guilt.
7. This is why I will not be afraid of what he says, why I will not be troubled by his words,
8. for all his commands are right, and he has many good things to say.
9. The Lord is kind and always ready to forgive, and he will not keep his anger forever.
10. For he is pleased when we turn to him, and he knows that we are trying to follow him.
11. But if we keep on sinning and doing evil, he will not forgive us.
12. But if we confess our sins, he will forgive us and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.
