Psalm 32 good news bible
Here is Psalm 32 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 32
A Happy Heart
- Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are covered.
- Oh, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in accordance with his laws.
- When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away,
- my strength was sapped, and I could hardly breathe.
- But when I confessed my sin, I felt the weight of guilt lift, and I was free at last!
- The Lord forgave me and took away my guilt.
- This is why I will not be afraid of what he says, why I will not be troubled by his words,
- for all his commands are right, and he has many good things to say.
- The Lord is kind and always ready to forgive, and he will not keep his anger forever.
- For he is pleased when we turn to him, and he knows that we are trying to follow him.
- But if we keep on sinning and doing evil, he will not forgive us.
- But if we confess our sins, he will forgive us and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.
Notes:
- The Good News Bible (GNB) is a translation of the Bible that aims to make the message of the Bible clear and easy to understand for modern readers.
- The title "A Happy Heart" is not part of the original Psalm, but is a common title given to Psalm 32 due to its themes of joy, forgiveness, and freedom.
- The Psalm is often referred to as the "Psalm of Forgiveness" because of its emphasis on the importance of confessing and seeking forgiveness for sin.
