Psalm 27 new living translation
Here is Psalm 27 in the New Living Translation (NLT):
Psalm 27
-
The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
-
When the wicked advance against me, my enemies and foes stumble and fall.
-
Though a mighty army sets itself against me, my heart will not be afraid; I will not be disturbed. I will trust in you, Lord my God, for ever and ever.
-
Your promise is all I have; it is my only hope.
-
I rely on your promise, Lord; my heart is confident in you. I will praise you, Lord my God, as long as I live.
-
Do not put your servants to shame, for I sing your praises with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
-
For your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!
-
I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
-
Do not let those who seek to destroy me on the earth be encouraged.
-
Do not let those who plot my downfall rejoice at my expense.
-
But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
-
I cry out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. I sleep and I sleep, for the Lord sustains me.
-
I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.
-
Rise up, Lord! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you.
-
Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.
-
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
-
Show me the way I should go, for to follow you is my greatest joy. Help me follow your commands, that I may live; and may your good Spirit guide me.
-
Turn your ear to me, and hear my cry. Show me the wonders of your unfailing love.
-
Keep me safe, Lord, for in you I have taken refuge.
-
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
-
May integrity and honesty protect me, because my hope is in you.
-
Do not let me be put to shame, Lord, for I have cried out to you. But let integrity and honesty protect me, for I have put my hope in you.
-
Keep me safe, Lord, for in you I have taken refuge.
-
May integrity and honesty protect me, because my hope is in you.
-
May those who are against me be put to shame and confusion; may they turn back and be dishonored. May those who seek to destroy me be turned back and be confounded.
-
May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” turn back because of their shame.
-
But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “The Lord is great!”
-
But I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.
-
The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
-
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
-
And with gladness you will drink from the streams of God’s delight.
-
For you, O Lord, have blessed me and kept me from harm. You have set my feet in a spacious place.
-
I will bless you, Lord, and always praise your name, for your love and your faithfulness, for you have set my feet in a spacious place.
-
You have given me a noble heritage— O that my enemies would write a bitter end,
-
for they have fared like the grass, which withers away, though they seem to flourish in their schemes.
-
But you, O Lord, are forever exalted.
-
For even the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
-
For the Lord is their strength and their shield, and he is the salvation of his anointed.
-
They will be called the Lord’s people, and of his people they will be called holy.
-
The Lord gives his people the blessing of peace.
