Psalm 27 good news bible
Here is Psalm 27 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 27
-
The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
-
When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they stumble and fall.
-
Though a mighty army sets against me, my heart will not be afraid; though war breaks out against me, even then I will be confident.
-
One thing I ask from the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in his house all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him.
-
For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will hide me under his cover and set me high above all things.
-
I will say to the Lord, "You are my Lord; apart from you, I have no good thing." Israel, put your hope in the Lord, both now and forevermore.
-
The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
-
You are my rock, my fortress, my deliverer; you are my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge. My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold!
-
I will call on the Lord, who is worthy of praise— he will answer me; he will be with me in trouble. He will rescue me and honor me.
-
With my voice I will call out to the Lord; I will make my plea to God Almighty. From his temple he will hear my cry; my cry comes before him, into his ears.
-
The Lord blesses those who come to him in a righteous way, when they remember to obey his laws.
-
For the Lord will not reject his people; he will not abandon his heritage.
-
Speak out to the Lord, all the earth! Burn incense to him and offer your sacrifices at noon every day.
-
Come into his presence with thanksgiving; come with songs into his courts.
-
Honor the Lord with the fruit of your lips; offer him your morning and evening sacrifices.
-
But I take heart and sing your praises. I will trust in the Lord always, and praise him forevermore.
-
My heart is steadfast, Lord, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music to you, the Lord.
-
You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, my rock, my stronghold.
-
Do not grant the wicked their wishes, Lord, do not help their evil schemes.
-
Those who do not follow you will be silenced in the pit; they will fall into the trap they set for themselves.
-
The wicked will fall into their own traps, but the righteous will rejoice and be glad.
-
May all the wicked of the earth vanish, so that the righteous may be exalted.
-
I know that the Lord will help me; that the Lord will not let me stumble.
-
I will be confident and will not fear, for the Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
