Psalm 26 good news bible
Here is Psalm 26 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 26
- Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have lived a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered.
- Test my heart, examine me; for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.
- I have not sat with those who pretend to be godly, nor have I eaten at the table of the wicked.
- I have washed my hands in innocence, and gone to the altar of God to give thanks.
- I have made a vow to you, O God, and will pay it; I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for you have delivered me.
- You have been my help, O Lord; do not abandon me now.
- May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, "The Lord is great!"
- But I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, my God.
Reflection
In this psalm, the writer is asking God to vindicate him, to prove that he is innocent and has lived a blameless life. He is confident that he has trusted in the Lord and has not faltered. He has avoided the company of those who pretend to be godly, and has sought God's help and deliverance. He is asking God to come quickly to his aid, as he is poor and needy. This psalm is a great example of the writer's trust in God and his desire to live a life that is pleasing to God.
