Psalm 21 good news bible

Here is Psalm 21 in the Good News Bible (GNB):

Psalm 21

A Psalm of David

  1. The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing.
  2. He lets me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters.
  3. He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths because of his name.
  4. Even if I walk through a valley as dark as death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.
  5. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
  6. Only goodness and faithful love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live.

The King's Victory

  1. The Lord will judge the nations; he will rule over many nations.
  2. They will serve him and obey him willingly; they will be his people and he will be their God.
  3. The kings of the earth will respect the Lord and all the nations will serve him.
  4. All the kings of the earth will worship him; all the nations will serve him.
  5. Foreigners will lose their strength; they will be weak and exhausted; but the Lord will increase the power of his people.
  6. The Lord will bless them and give them peace.

The King's Prayer

  1. Now I know that the Lord will save me; he will come to me and save me; he will rescue me from the power of the wicked.
  2. You are my shield and my salvation; you are my hope, my strong tower.
  3. My God, come to my help! Rescue me from the power of the wicked.
  4. Come to my help, Lord God of my salvation! Rescue me from the power of the wicked.
  5. May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob set you free.
  6. May he send you help from his holy place; may he support you from his heavenly sanctuary.
  7. May he remember all your offerings and accept your whole burnt offering. May he give you the desires of your heart and the blessings you need.
  8. May he bless you from heaven above and give you peace.

The King's Praise

  1. May the Lord give you the blessing of Abraham, the blessings of the ancient mountains, the blessings of the eternal hills.

  2. May he bless you with the blessings of the heavenly mountains, the blessings of the eternal hills, and the blessings of the earth that he has given to the sun.

  3. May he bless you with the blessings of the sea, the blessings of the deep, and the blessings of the springs of the earth.

  4. May he bless you with the blessings of the desert, the blessings of the harvest, and the blessings of the land of Israel.

  5. May he bless you with the blessings of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

  6. The Lord will increase your power and give you peace in the land you have received as your inheritance.

  7. The Lord will bless you and keep you; the Lord will make his face shine on you and give you peace.

  8. The Lord will bless you and keep you; the Lord will make his face shine on you and give you peace.
