Psalm 127 good news bible
Here is Psalm 127 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 127
-
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders work in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
-
In vain you rise early and stay up late, working hard to earn money. God gives his children sleep.
-
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
-
Children are like arrows in the hands of a warrior; they are children born to his heart.
-
Happy is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be ashamed when he disputes with his enemies at the gate.
This psalm is often referred to as the "Psalm of Parenthood" because of its emphasis on the importance of children and the blessing they bring to parents. The psalmist reminds us that unless God is involved in our lives and work, our efforts are ultimately futile. But when we trust in God and seek His guidance, we can find joy and fulfillment in our roles as parents and caregivers.
