Psalm 121 good news bible

Here is Psalm 121 in the Good News Bible:

Psalm 121

I lift my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not fall asleep. Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither sleep nor slumber.

The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

This psalm is a beautiful expression of trust in God's protection and care. The psalmist looks to the mountains for help, but ultimately finds it in the Lord, who is the Creator of heaven and earth. The psalm goes on to describe God's constant watchfulness over us, using the metaphor of a shade that protects us from the sun and moon. The final verse is a powerful declaration of God's care, promising to keep us safe from all harm and to watch over our lives both now and forevermore.
