Psalm 118 good news bible
Here is Psalm 118 in the Good News Bible:
Psalm 118
- Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love lasts forever!
- Let the Israelites say this, for his love lasts forever!
- I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I was saved from my enemies.
- The cords of death entangled me; the troubles of the grave surrounded me. But in my distress I called to the Lord; I called out to my God. Who is the God of my salvation? The Lord is the God of my salvation!
- The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
- The Lord is with me; he helps me. The Lord is with me and rescues me. He is my salvation!
- Be glad, Israel! Be glad and celebrate! Sing praises to the Lord, all you nations!
- For he has a plan to prosper you, not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future.
- Be glad, Israel! Be glad and celebrate! Sing praises to the Lord, all you nations!
- For the Lord has done great things for us; he has set us free from our enemies.
- You have given us victory over our enemies, and you have put our enemies to shame.
- You have given us victory over our enemies, and you have put our enemies to shame.
- You have given us victory over our enemies, and you have put our enemies to shame.
- The Lord is my strength and my shield; he has given me victory.
- The Lord is my strength and my shield; he has given me victory.
- The Lord is my strength and my shield; he has given me victory.
- I will not die, but I will live, and I will praise the Lord.
- The Lord has punished me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
- Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.
- This is the Lord's gate; the righteous will enter it.
- I will give thanks to you, Lord, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.
- The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
- The Lord has done this, and it is amazing in our eyes.
- This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
- O Lord, save us! O Lord, answer us!
- Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; we bless you from the house of the Lord.
- The Lord is God, and he has given us light.
- Be glad, Israel! Be glad and celebrate! Sing praises to the Lord, all you nations!
This psalm is a celebration of God's deliverance and salvation, and it is often read during Jewish and Christian worship services. It is also a popular psalm for funerals and memorial services, as it speaks of God's power to deliver us from death and to give us eternal life.
