Psalm 10 good news bible
Here is Psalm 10 in the Good News Bible (GNB):
Psalm 10
-
Why, Lord, do you stand so far away? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
-
In arrogance the wicked are hunting me. They are hunting me down to swallow me up, like a lion that is lurking in ambush.
-
God, you know my heart. You see what my enemies are saying, and you know what they are plotting against me.
-
They say, "God will never help him." But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my honor and the one who lifts up my head.
-
I cry out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. I sleep and I am safe, for the Lord is my protector.
-
I will not be afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. Arise, Lord! Rescue me, my God! Slap the wicked in the face and shatter their teeth.
-
From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
In this psalm, the writer is crying out to God for help and protection from his enemies. He feels overwhelmed and alone, but he trusts in God's power and protection. He reminds God that he knows his heart and sees the wicked plans of his enemies. The psalm ends with a declaration of trust in God's deliverance and a prayer for God's blessing on his people.
