Proverbs 5 good news bible
Here are the proverbs from Proverbs 5 in the Good News Bible:
Proverbs 5:1-14
1 My child, listen to my wisdom, 2 and pay attention to my words of insight. 3 For I am giving you good advice; don't forget what I say. 4 Listen, my child, and be wise; don't turn away from my words. 5 Don't let your heart be drawn to her ways; don't wander down her paths. 6 For she has abandoned her husband and done shameful things. 7 She is a noisy crowd in the streets, a gang of troublemakers in the town square. 8 She lies in wait at every corner, and her ways are wicked. 9 She has no regard for her husband's feelings; she doesn't care about his well-being. 10 She eats and drinks, and then gets drunk, and because of her shame, she forgets her own dignity. 11 Her actions are like a prostitute's; she commits adultery with every passerby. 12 She is a twisted and crooked path, and those who follow her will end up in darkness. 13 They will stumble and fall, and their victims will be many. 14 But you, my child, must not follow her ways; don't go down her paths.
Proverbs 5:15-23
15 Drink water from your own well— your own spring of life. 16 Should your springs be scattered abroad, streams of water in the streets? 17 Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers. 18 May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. 19 A loving doe, a charming deer— my child, may you find pleasure with her love. 20 Why, my son, be intoxicated with another man's wife? Why embrace the bosom of a stranger? 21 For a man's ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he examines all his paths. 22 The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them; the cords of their sins hold them fast. 23 But the Lord will rescue his servants; he will rescue them from the wicked, because they take refuge in him.
