Proverbs 3 good news bible

Here are the proverbs from Proverbs 3 in the Good News Bible:

Proverbs 3:1-12

  1. My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store up my commands in your heart.
  2. For they will be your guide through life, and wisdom will be yours.
  3. Don't forget, and don't turn away from the words of knowledge.
  4. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't rely on your own understanding.
  5. Recognize that the Lord will guide you and give you wisdom, and then you will live a long, good life.
  6. Don't be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
  7. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
  8. Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.
  9. Then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
  10. Don't exploit the poor because they are poor, and don't crush the needy in court.
  11. For the Lord will defend the cause of the poor and give them justice.
  12. He will be their defender in court and give them their rights.

Proverbs 3:13-26

  1. Happy are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.
  2. They will be given a good life, and they will live it to the full.
  3. They will be wise and will have a good reputation, and their wisdom will never be forgotten.
  4. Wisdom is more valuable than rubies, and nothing you can desire is more valuable than it.
  5. I will guide you along the right path, and I will help you follow it.
  6. Don't be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding, but must be controlled with bit and bridle.
  7. The wicked will be punished, but those who are righteous will be rewarded.
  8. My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.
  9. Don't forget, and don't turn away from the words of my mouth.
  10. Put your hope in the Lord, and he will take care of you.
  11. You will be protected, and he will keep you safe.
  12. Then you will go to bed with a full stomach, and you will sleep soundly.
  13. You will not be afraid of anything, and you will not worry about anything.
  14. The Lord will be your guide, and he will give you wisdom, and he will protect you.
