Here's a prayer for the new year 2020:
Dear God,
As we stand at the threshold of a new year, we come before you with gratitude and hope. We thank you for the blessings of the past year and for the opportunities you have given us to grow and learn.
As we look to the future, we ask that you guide us and direct us. Help us to set our sights on your kingdom and to prioritize the things that are most important to you. Give us wisdom and discernment as we make decisions and navigate the challenges that lie ahead.
May the new year be a time of renewal and refreshment for us. May we be filled with your Spirit and empowered to live out our faith in a way that honors you. May we be a blessing to those around us and may we be a light in the darkness.
We pray for our families, our friends, and our communities. May they be blessed with peace, prosperity, and good health. May they be protected from harm and may they be guided by your wisdom.
We pray for our nation and for the world. May they be blessed with justice, equality, and freedom. May they be guided by your principles of love, compassion, and kindness.
And as we look to the future, we ask that you give us a sense of hope and anticipation. May we be excited to see what you have in store for us and may we be willing to trust in your goodness and sovereignty.
