Peter Alanta, a popular Ajegunle musician and the originator of the Alanta Dance, is dead.
According to reports, the singer passed away after battling with an undisclosed ailment for months.
Confirming the sad incident, his colleague and friend, Kim Rankin, slammed his fans on social media for abandoning him.
“When Alanta was alive who cared? How many of us showed him love,” he queried.
The Denge Pose crooner also called on musicians who benefited from the deceased intellectual work to do something.
He said, “I just saw the post and if it’s true, hose popular artiste who benefitted from him his creative work should do something.”
Alanta came into limelight in the early 2000s with his hit song, Alanta.
The latest reigning dance shaku-shaku was said to have been derived from his popular dance.
May his soul rest in peace.
