Police warn against violation of cultism proscription order

POLICE WARN AGAINST VIOLATION OF CULTISM PROSCRIPTION ORDER

The Nigeria Police Force has warned against any form of violation of the proscription order on cultism in the country. The warning comes as the police intensify efforts to curb the menace of cultism, which has been a major concern in many parts of the country.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, the police warned that any individual or group found to be involved in cult-related activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

"The Nigeria Police Force wishes to reiterate its commitment to the fight against cultism and other forms of criminality in the country. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station," the statement read.

The police also warned that the proscription order on cultism is still in force and any attempt to violate it will be met with severe consequences.

"We will not tolerate any form of cult-related activity, including initiation, membership, or participation in any cult group. We will also not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anyone found to be involved in such activities," the statement added.

The police also appealed to parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children and wards, and to report any suspicious behavior to the police.
