POLICE ARREST NOTORIOUS BURGLAR IN IKORODU, RECOVER STOLEN ITEMS
The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of a notorious burglar in Ikorodu, Lagos, following a sting operation by the police.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Olamide Adeyemi, was arrested on Tuesday evening at his hideout in the Ikorodu area of the state.
According to the police, Adeyemi had been on their wanted list for several months due to his involvement in a string of burglaries in the area.
During the operation, the police recovered several stolen items, including:
- A stolen Toyota Camry car
- A stolen Samsung TV
- A stolen laptop
- A stolen gold chain
- A stolen pair of designer shoes
- A stolen bag containing cash and other valuables
The police also recovered a stolen motorcycle, which was hidden in a nearby bush.
The police spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that Adeyemi was arrested after a tip-off from a member of the public.
"Adeyemi was arrested at his hideout in Ikorodu, where he was found in possession of several stolen items," Adejobi said. "He has been taken into custody and is being questioned by the police."
The police have appealed to members of the public to report any suspicious activities or information that could lead to the arrest of other criminals.
In a related development, the police have also launched an investigation into the activities of a notorious gang of robbers who have been terrorizing residents of the Ikorodu area.
The gang, which is believed to be responsible for several robberies in the area, is said to be led by a 30-year-old man identified as Segun Adeyemi.
The police have appealed to anyone with information about the gang's activities to come forward and assist in their investigation.
In the meantime, the police have assured residents of the Ikorodu area that they are working tirelessly to ensure their safety and security.
"We are committed to making sure that our communities are safe and secure," Adejobi said. "We will continue to work hard to apprehend criminals and bring them to justice."
