PDP Asks EFCC to Probe Alleged Looting of TraderMoni, Anchor Borrowers Others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the alleged looting of the TraderMoni and Anchor Borrowers Programmes by the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

The party made the call in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Tuesday.

The statement reads: "The PDP demands that the EFCC, as a matter of urgency, investigates the alleged looting of the TraderMoni and Anchor Borrowers Programmes, which were designed to support small-scale entrepreneurs and farmers, but have been hijacked by the APC government for personal enrichment.

"The PDP is aware that the APC government has been using these programmes as a conduit pipe to siphon public funds, thereby depriving the intended beneficiaries of the benefits.

"We have it on good authority that the TraderMoni and Anchor Borrowers Programmes have been hijacked by APC leaders and their cronies, who are using the funds for personal aggrandizement, rather than supporting the intended beneficiaries.

"The PDP therefore demands that the EFCC, as a matter of national importance, investigates this alleged looting and brings those involved to book.

"The PDP also demands that the APC government provides a comprehensive report on the utilization of the funds allocated to these programmes, and that the report be made public.

"The PDP will not tolerate any attempt by the APC government to cover up this alleged looting, and we will continue to monitor the situation and take necessary actions to ensure that justice is served.

"The PDP believes that the TraderMoni and Anchor Borrowers Programmes were designed to support the poor and vulnerable in our society, and it is unacceptable that the APC government has turned them into a means of personal enrichment.

"We therefore call on all Nigerians to join us in demanding that the EFCC investigates this alleged looting and brings those involved to book."

The PDP's call comes amid allegations of corruption and mismanagement of public funds by the APC government.
