Saraki Urges Patronage of Made-in-Nigeria Cars
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has called on Nigerians to patronize made-in-Nigeria cars in order to boost the country's economy.
Saraki made the call while speaking at the launch of the Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) plant in Anambra State. He said that the country's economy would benefit greatly if Nigerians could patronize locally-made cars.
"I urge all Nigerians to support our local car manufacturers by patronizing their products. This will not only create jobs but also boost our economy," Saraki said.
The Senate President also commended the management of IVM for their efforts in promoting local content in the automotive industry.
"I want to commend the management of IVM for their commitment to promoting local content in the automotive industry. This is a step in the right direction and I urge other manufacturers to follow suit," Saraki said.
The IVM plant, which was launched in 2015, has the capacity to produce 10,000 vehicles per annum. The plant has already produced over 5,000 vehicles since its inception.
