Osun court orders oluwo to appear for allegedly assaulting fellow monarch
A interesting development!
According to reports, the Osun State High Court has ordered the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, to appear in court over allegations of assault on a fellow monarch, the Agboade of Iwo, Oba Idowu Adewale.
The court issued the summons after the Agboade filed a complaint against Oluwo, accusing him of physically assaulting him at a meeting of the Iwo Traditional Council in 2020.
The Agboade alleged that Oluwo attacked him with a stick, causing him to sustain injuries, and also accused him of attempting to humiliate him in front of other traditional rulers.
The court has ordered Oluwo to appear before it on March 24, 2023, to answer to the allegations.
This development comes as a surprise, as Oluwo is known for his flamboyant lifestyle and controversial statements, but this is the first time he has been summoned to court over a serious allegation.
It will be interesting to see how this case unfolds and what consequences Oluwo may face if found guilty of the alleged assault.
