Osinbajo not relegated by buhari says presidency

A recent development in Nigerian politics!

According to a report by The Punch, the Nigerian Presidency has denied claims that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been relegated by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The denial comes after some reports emerged suggesting that Osinbajo's role in the administration had been diminished, with some even speculating that he might be replaced as Vice President.

However, the Presidency has issued a statement dismissing these claims, saying that Osinbajo remains a key member of the administration and continues to carry out his duties as Vice President.

The statement, which was issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, reads:

"The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to a report making the rounds that the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has been relegated in the administration. We wish to categorically deny this report as false and mischievous.

The Vice President remains a key member of the administration and continues to carry out his duties as the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is still the Chairman of the National Economic Council, the Chairman of the National Investment Council, and the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Power.

The President and the Vice President have a very good working relationship, and they continue to work together to deliver on the promises made to the Nigerian people during the 2015 and 2019 elections.

We urge the public to disregard this report and continue to support the administration in its efforts to move the country forward."

It's worth noting that the relationship between Buhari and Osinbajo has been a subject of speculation in recent times, with some analysts suggesting that the two leaders have been at odds over various issues. However, the Presidency's denial of these claims suggests that the relationship remains strong and that Osinbajo remains a key player in the administration.
