Oshiomhole unopposed for apc chair as ebri bows out
It appears that Adams Oshiomhole, a former Governor of Edo State, has emerged unopposed as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after his only opponent, Clement Ebri, withdrew from the race.
According to reports, Ebri, a former National Organizing Secretary of the party, announced his withdrawal from the race on Tuesday, citing the need to avoid a divisive contest and to allow the party to focus on its re-election bid in 2023.
With Ebri's withdrawal, Oshiomhole is now set to take over as the Chairman of the APC, a position he has been vying for since his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, resigned in June.
Oshiomhole's emergence as the APC Chairman is seen as a significant development in Nigerian politics, given his reputation as a strong leader and his ability to mobilize support for the party. However, his appointment has also been met with controversy, with some critics accusing him of being too divisive and of having a history of clashing with other party leaders.
It remains to be seen how Oshiomhole will approach his new role as APC Chairman and what impact he will have on the party's fortunes in the coming years.
