Ondo assembly passes amotekun bill into law

A great development!

According to reports, the Ondo State House of Assembly has passed the Amotekun Bill into law. This is a significant step forward in the establishment of the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), also known as Amotekun, which is a regional security outfit aimed at tackling insecurity in the region.

The Amotekun Bill was introduced by the Ondo State Government in February 2020, and after several deliberations and public hearings, the Assembly has finally given its approval. The bill is expected to be sent to the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for his signature.

The passage of the Amotekun Bill into law is seen as a major victory for the people of Ondo State and the entire South-West region, as it will enable the state to take charge of its security and protect its citizens from the growing threat of banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality.

The Amotekun initiative was conceived by the governors of the South-West states, including Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, and Ekiti, in response to the growing insecurity in the region. The outfit is expected to work closely with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to ensure the safety and security of the people.

Congratulations to the people of Ondo State and the entire South-West region on this significant development!
