Obasanjo replies buhari 16bn allegation based on ignorance im ready for probe
It seems like a new development in the ongoing controversy between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Muhammadu Buhari!
According to reports, President Buhari had accused Obasanjo of mismanaging the country's economy and embezzling N16 billion during his tenure as President from 1999 to 2007. Obasanjo has now responded to these allegations, calling them "based on ignorance" and stating that he is "ready for probe" to clear his name.
In a statement released by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo said: "The allegations are baseless, unfounded, and a product of ignorance. I am ready for any probe, anytime, anywhere. I am not afraid of any probe because I know that I have always been transparent and accountable in my dealings as a public officer."
Obasanjo also accused Buhari of being "misinformed" and "misguided" by his advisors, and warned that the President's actions would only lead to "division and chaos" in the country.
This latest development is likely to escalate the already tense relationship between the two leaders, and it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.
