NYSF DG Warns Corp Members Against Unauthorized Journey
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has warned corps members against embarking on unauthorized journeys during their service year.
Ibrahim gave the warning during a meeting with corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja, on Tuesday.
According to a statement by the NYSC Public Relations Officer, Adeniyi Bello, the DG emphasized that the corps members' safety and security are of utmost importance to the scheme.
He warned that any corps member found to be involved in unauthorized journeys would be dealt with accordingly, adding that the scheme has put in place measures to ensure the safety and security of corps members.
Ibrahim also urged corps members to be mindful of their surroundings and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
The DG also commended corps members for their dedication and commitment to their service year, and encouraged them to continue to work hard and make a positive impact in their host communities.
The warning comes amid concerns over the safety of corps members, particularly those serving in areas with high crime rates. The NYSC has been working to ensure the safety and security of corps members, including providing them with security escorts and emergency response plans.
It is essential for corps members to heed the warning and prioritize their safety and security during their service year.
