No fees increment in bayelsa tertiary institutions say bursars registrars

According to a report by the Nigerian Tribune, the Bursars and Registrars of tertiary institutions in Bayelsa State have announced that there will be no increment in school fees for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Bursars and Registrars of the state-owned institutions, which was held recently. The meeting was attended by representatives from the University of Bayelsa, Bayelsa State University, Niger Delta University, and the Bayelsa State College of Arts and Science.

The Bursars and Registrars reportedly agreed that the decision to maintain the current school fees was taken to alleviate the financial burden on students and their parents, particularly in the face of the current economic challenges in the country.

The meeting also discussed other issues affecting the institutions, including the need for improved infrastructure, staff welfare, and the provision of adequate facilities for students.

It is worth noting that the decision to maintain school fees is subject to the approval of the state government and the institutions' governing councils. However, the announcement by the Bursars and Registrars is a welcome development for students and their parents in Bayelsa State.
