Nigerias first coronavirus case now negative says lagos state

According to reports, Nigeria's first confirmed case of COVID-19, which was announced on February 27, 2020, has now tested negative.

The patient, a 44-year-old Italian national who had traveled to Nigeria from Milan, Italy, was initially confirmed to have contracted the virus after testing positive at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

However, subsequent tests conducted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Lagos State Ministry of Health have revealed that the patient has now tested negative for the virus.

This development is a significant relief for the country, as it suggests that the patient has made a full recovery from the infection and is no longer contagious.

The Lagos State Government has announced that the patient has been discharged from the hospital and is being monitored for any signs of relapse.

This news comes as a welcome development in Nigeria's efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, which has been a major concern globally.
