Nigeria ranks 124 global competitiveness index world bank
I think there may be a slight mistake there!
According to the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) 2020 report, Nigeria ranks 115th out of 141 economies in terms of global competitiveness. The GCI is an annual report that assesses the competitiveness of countries based on 12 pillars, including institutions, infrastructure, macroeconomic environment, health and primary education, higher education and training, goods market efficiency, labor market efficiency, financial market sophistication, technological readiness, market size, business sophistication, and innovation.
Here's a breakdown of Nigeria's ranking in the 2020 GCI report:
- Overall ranking: 115th out of 141 economies
- Score: 43.4 out of 100 (where 100 is the highest score)
While Nigeria's ranking is not the highest, it's important to note that the country has made significant progress in recent years in terms of economic growth, infrastructure development, and human capital development. However, there are still many challenges that need to be addressed to improve the country's competitiveness and overall economic performance.
It's worth noting that the World Bank also publishes its own Doing Business report, which assesses the ease of doing business in countries around the world. According to the World Bank's Doing Business 2020 report, Nigeria ranks 169th out of 190 economies in terms of ease of doing business.
