Newcastle agree 12m swansea shelvey

According to reports, Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey for a fee of around £12 million.

Shelvey, 26, has been a key player for Swansea since joining the club in 2013, making over 150 appearances and scoring 15 goals. He has also been capped by England at senior level.

The deal is subject to a medical and personal terms, but it's expected to be completed in the coming days. Shelvey will become Newcastle's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of midfielder Isaac Hayden from Aston Villa.

Shelvey's arrival will likely see him compete for a starting spot in Newcastle's midfield alongside players like Mohamed Diame, Yoan Gouffran, and Jack Colback.
