New zealand premiership
The New Zealand Premiership, also known as the Mitre 10 Cup, is the top-level professional rugby union competition in New Zealand. It is contested by 14 teams, divided into two conferences: the North Conference and the South Conference.
Here is a list of the teams that compete in the New Zealand Premiership:
North Conference:
- Auckland
- Bay of Plenty
- North Harbour
- Northland
- Waikato
South Conference:
- Canterbury
- Counties Manukau
- Hawke's Bay
- Otago
- Southland
- Tasman
- Wellington
The competition is played from August to October, with each team playing each other once in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each conference then qualify for the playoffs, which culminate in the Premiership final.
The Mitre 10 Cup is considered one of the premier domestic rugby competitions in the world, and many of its players have gone on to represent the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks.
