- 8 years or more of work experience in an occupation related to the job being applied for: 30 points
- 5-7 years of work experience in an occupation related to the job being applied for: 20 points
- 2-4 years of work experience in an occupation related to the job being applied for: 10 points
- Less than 2 years of work experience in an occupation related to the job being applied for: 0 points
- Qualifications: 30 points (max)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field: 30 points
- Postgraduate degree or higher in a relevant field: 20 points
- Diploma or certificate in a relevant field: 10 points
- Job Offer: 15 points (max)
- A job offer in New Zealand that meets the requirements of the points-based system: 15 points
- Other Factors: 10 points (max)
- Relevant skills or qualifications in a specific area (e.g. IT, healthcare): 10 points
- Other factors that may be considered (e.g. community involvement, leadership skills): 10 points
Total Points: 160 points (max)
