New year sermon by pastor adeboye

Here is a sermon by Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on the theme "New Year, New You" delivered on January 1, 2023:

Text: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Title: New Year, New You

Introduction:

Dear brethren, welcome to the year 2023! As we begin this new year, I want to ask you a question: Are you ready for a new year, a new you? Are you ready to leave the old behind and start anew? Are you ready to experience the blessings of God in a new and exciting way?

The Problem:

Many of us have been living in the past, carrying the baggage of yesterday into today. We have been stuck in the same old patterns, the same old habits, and the same old mindset. We have been living in the shadow of our past mistakes, our past failures, and our past regrets. But the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

The Solution:

The solution to our problem is not to try harder, to work smarter, or to pray more. The solution is to be born again, to be made new in Christ. When you are born again, you are not just a new creation, you are a new creature. You are a new person with a new heart, a new mind, and a new spirit.

The Benefits:

When you are a new creation in Christ, you will experience the following benefits:

The Challenge:

So, my dear brethren, I want to challenge you today to make a decision to be a new creation in Christ. I want to challenge you to leave the old behind and start anew. I want to challenge you to experience the blessings of God in a new and exciting way.

The Prayer:

Dear heavenly Father, I come to you today with a humble heart, asking for your forgiveness and your mercy. I ask that you would help me to leave the old behind and start anew. I ask that you would help me to be a new creation in Christ, with a new heart, a new mind, and a new spirit. I ask that you would help me to experience your blessings in a new and exciting way. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Conclusion:

Dear brethren, as we begin this new year, I want to encourage you to make a decision to be a new creation in Christ. I want to encourage you to leave the old behind and start anew. I want to encourage you to experience the blessings of God in a new and exciting way. Remember, you are not the same person you were yesterday. You are a new creation in Christ, and you have a new future ahead of you. Go out there and make it happen!
