Professor Ogunsola was born on August 24, 1962, in Lagos, Nigeria. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Lagos in 1984, and later earned her Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Ibadan in 1986 and 1991, respectively.

Before her appointment as Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ogunsola had a distinguished academic and administrative career, serving in various capacities at UNILAG, including as the Head of Department of Biochemistry, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services).

Under her leadership, the university is expected to focus on several key areas, including academic excellence, research and innovation, infrastructure development, and community engagement.
