New turkish lira notes

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has introduced new banknotes and coins into circulation in recent years. Here are the new Turkish Lira (TRY) notes:

New Banknotes (2019)

  1. 50 Turkish Lira (TRY 50): Features a portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, on the obverse (front) side. The reverse (back) side features a depiction of the Turkish flag and the country's coat of arms.
  2. 100 Turkish Lira (TRY 100): Features a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side, while the reverse side features a depiction of the Turkish Parliament building in Ankara.
  3. 200 Turkish Lira (TRY 200): Features a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side, while the reverse side features a depiction of the Istanbul Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya) museum.
  4. 500 Turkish Lira (TRY 500): Features a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side, while the reverse side features a depiction of the Turkish Airlines logo and a Turkish Airlines aircraft.
  5. 1,000 Turkish Lira (TRY 1,000): Features a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side, while the reverse side features a depiction of the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul.

New Coins (2012)

  1. 1 Turkish Lira (TRY 1): A copper-plated steel coin featuring a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side and the Turkish coat of arms on the reverse side.
  2. 5 Turkish Lira (TRY 5): A nickel-plated steel coin featuring a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side and a depiction of the Turkish flag on the reverse side.
  3. 10 Turkish Lira (TRY 10): A nickel-plated steel coin featuring a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side and a depiction of the Turkish Parliament building in Ankara on the reverse side.
  4. 25 Turkish Lira (TRY 25): A copper-nickel coin featuring a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side and a depiction of the Istanbul Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya) museum on the reverse side.
  5. 50 Turkish Lira (TRY 50): A copper-nickel coin featuring a portrait of Atatürk on the obverse side and a depiction of the Turkish Airlines logo and a Turkish Airlines aircraft on the reverse side.
