In the Latter Day Saint movement, including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), the New Testament prophets are considered to be the same individuals who are recognized as prophets in the Bible. However, the LDS Church also recognizes additional prophets who are not mentioned in the Bible, but are considered to be prophets of God.
Here are some of the New Testament prophets recognized by the LDS Church:
- John the Baptist: Considered to be the forerunner of Jesus Christ, John the Baptist is recognized as a prophet in the Bible and in the LDS Church.
- Jesus Christ: As the Son of God, Jesus Christ is considered to be the greatest prophet of all time in the LDS Church.
- Stephen: A deacon and one of the first Christian martyrs, Stephen is recognized as a prophet in the Bible and in the LDS Church.
- Philip: A deacon and one of the seven chosen to serve the early Christian church, Philip is recognized as a prophet in the Bible and in the LDS Church.
- Peter: One of Jesus' twelve apostles, Peter is recognized as a prophet in the Bible and in the LDS Church.
- James: The brother of Jesus and the leader of the church in Jerusalem, James is recognized as a prophet in the Bible and in the LDS Church.
- John: The author of the Book of Revelation and one of Jesus' twelve apostles, John is recognized as a prophet in the Bible and in the LDS Church.
In addition to these New Testament prophets, the LDS Church also recognizes the following prophets who are not mentioned in the Bible:
- Joseph Smith: The founder of the LDS Church, Joseph Smith is considered to be a prophet of God and the translator of the Book of Mormon.
- Brigham Young: The second president of the LDS Church, Brigham Young is considered to be a prophet of God and the leader of the Mormon pioneers.
- Heber J. Grant: The seventh president of the LDS Church, Heber J. Grant is considered to be a prophet of God and a leader in the church.
- Spencer W. Kimball: The twelfth president of the LDS Church, Spencer W. Kimball is considered to be a prophet of God and a leader in the church.
- Ezra Taft Benson: The thirteenth president of the LDS Church, Ezra Taft Benson is considered to be a prophet of God and a leader in the church.
- Howard W. Hunter: The fourteenth president of the LDS Church, Howard W. Hunter is considered to be a prophet of God and a leader in the church.

These prophets are considered to be the leaders of the LDS Church and are recognized as such by its members.
