The New Testament of the Bible contains 27 books, which are divided into four categories: Gospels, Acts, Epistles (letters), and Apocalyptic literature. Here is a list of the New Testament books in the order they appear in most Protestant Bibles:

Note that the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Bibles include additional books known as the Deuterocanonical books or Apocrypha, which are not recognized as canonical by Protestant denominations. These books include Tobit, Judith, Additions to Esther, Wisdom of Solomon, Ecclesiasticus (also known as Sirach), Baruch, Letter of Jeremiah, 1 Maccabees, and 2 Maccabees.
