New president of chad

As of August 2021, the President of Chad is Mahamat Déby Itno. He took office on April 20, 2021, following the death of his father, Idriss Déby Itno, who had been the President of Chad since 1990.

Mahamat Déby Itno was born in 1976 and is a military officer. He was the commander of the Chadian military's Rapid Intervention Force (FIR) and was appointed as the head of the Transitional Military Council (CMT) after his father's death.

The CMT was established to oversee a transition period following the death of President Déby, with the goal of holding elections and restoring civilian rule. Mahamat Déby Itno has pledged to respect the country's constitution and to work towards a peaceful and democratic transition.

It's worth noting that Chad has a history of military coups and authoritarian rule, and there are concerns about the stability and legitimacy of the current government. The international community, including the African Union and the European Union, has called for a peaceful and democratic transition in Chad.
