As a caregiver for New Pathway, you will be required to meet certain standards and qualifications to ensure the highest level of care and support for our clients. Here are some of the requirements:
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to work as a caregiver for New Pathway.
- Background Check: You will be required to undergo a thorough background check, including a criminal history check and a check of your driving record (if applicable).
- Certifications and Training: You must have a valid certification in CPR/First Aid and have completed a minimum of 12 hours of caregiver training, which includes topics such as:
- Basic care and hygiene
- Medication administration
- Wound care
- Fall prevention
- Communication skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: You must have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- References: You will be required to provide professional references from previous employers or supervisors.
- TB Test: You will be required to undergo a tuberculosis (TB) test and provide proof of a negative result.
- Vaccinations: You will be required to provide proof of vaccination against certain diseases, such as:
- Influenza (flu)
- Hepatitis B
- MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella)
- Physical Ability: You must be physically able to perform the duties of a caregiver, including lifting, transferring, and moving clients.
- Mental Health: You must be mentally fit to perform the duties of a caregiver and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
