New nnpc group managing director

As of March 2022, the new Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is Mele Kyari. He took over the position from Maikanti Baru, who retired on July 7, 2020.

Mele Kyari is a Nigerian engineer and petroleum expert with over 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He was previously the Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD) of NNPC, where he was responsible for the marketing and sale of Nigeria's crude oil.
