• The new N1000 note features a portrait of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, a Nigerian statesman and politician, on the obverse.
• The reverse features a depiction of the Nigerian national monument, the National Assembly Complex.
• The note has a brown color scheme and is also made of polymer material.
