New dance step
Let's create a new dance step together!
Introducing the "Sparkle Sway"!
The Move:
- Start with your feet shoulder-width apart, with your weight evenly distributed between both feet.
- Take a small step to the side with your left foot (for the lead) and transfer your weight onto it.
- As you transfer your weight, bend your knees slightly and lower your body down into a slight squat.
- Keeping your left foot in place, swing your right foot across your body, so that it's now in front of your left foot.
- As your right foot swings across, twirl your torso to the right, keeping your arms relaxed and your hands in a loose fist.
- As you twirl, allow your hips to sway to the right, keeping your upper body loose and relaxed.
- Bring your right foot back to the starting position, and repeat the sequence on the other side (step to the right with your right foot, swing your left foot across, twirl, and sway).
The Sparkle:
To add some extra flair to the Sparkle Sway, try incorporating some arm movements:
- As you twirl your torso, raise your arms up and out to the sides, keeping them loose and relaxed.
- As you sway your hips, allow your arms to swing back and forth, as if you're swishing a sparkly scarf.
- You can also add some finger tutting or hand claps to add some extra sparkle to the move.
Tips and Variations:
- To make the Sparkle Sway more challenging, try adding some extra footwork, such as tapping your toes or adding in some small jumps.
- To make it easier, try simplifying the arm movements or reducing the amount of twirling and swaying.
- You can also modify the Sparkle Sway to fit your personal style by adding in some extra flair, such as a hip bump or a shoulder shimmy.
So, are you ready to give the Sparkle Sway a try?
